Job Description
We’re now looking to add a proactive, solution-oriented and upbeat Account Director (with DTC Pharma experience) to effectively collaborate with a strong account/creative team and become a trusted advisor/partner to our clients.
The Account Director is responsible for the management and execution of the day-to-day account activities to ensure agency and client expectations are met.
This role is remote, and will be based in NYC once our office reopens. Client is located in NJ.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Operates as lead account advisor – the go-to-person for business direction (internal and external)
- Seen as client partner – working with them to achieve/surpass goals
- Leads new business pitches (by assignment and seeks opportunities to bring in new clients based on past client relationships)
- Ability to liaise with management to improve overall agency operation
- Looks for opportunities to train/mentor junior staff (beyond direct reports)
- Leads internal development projects (pro-bono, growth & development, agency efficiencies, etc)
- Looks and recommends ways of improving the strategic/leadership caliber of overall account department
- Looks for unique business opportunities (partnering with other agencies, new channels, etc)
- Identifies and brings in outside partners/vendors to grow agency knowledges and offerings
- Empowers account team members to surpass their personal/career goals
- Guides staff on best ways of handling challenging client situations. Steps in as needed for extra support
- Ability to effectively manage up and down within Account Group
- Effective negotiator (internal and external)
Desired Skills And Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in healthcare marketing, advertising or digital marketing firm/agency
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ability to manage multiple projects & assignments in a day
- Pharma marketing experience/knowledge
- Experience building client relationships & trust
- Experience directing & fostering vendor partnerships
- Adherence & understanding of internal/client process
- Accountability & knowledge of finances
- Creative thinker (solution oriented)
- Provides critical creative feedback
- Ability to manage up and down
- Experience managing junior staff (a Senior Account Executive and an Account Executive)

Skills specific to this role:
- Pain Management experience (a plus!)
- Direct-to-consumer launch experience for Rx Pharma brand
- Previous experience with Veeva (MLR Reviews)

- May include domestic travel
